Dental implants are a new option to replace lost teeth

Missing teeth are something that no one wants to deal with. A smile is one of the first things people notice about each other, so it's important to make sure that all of those pearly whites are in place. While most people believe that the only way to deal with this issue is by wearing dentures - which can be difficult to maintain and keep food particles out of - there are also dental implants.
This is a process that involves replacing missing teeth with an artificial root that is surgically implanted. This way, the new tooth is fused into the jawbone, preventing bone loss that is sometimes caused by dentures and other devices.
"Bone loss from missing teeth is a bigger problem than most people realize; if you allow resorption to continue unchecked, the structure of your cheeks and jaw will start to change, giving your face a caved-in look in as few as five to ten years," said David Miller D.D.S.
Of course, to avoid losing teeth in the first place the best prevention method is having proper dental health.
