Who should consider joining a dental savings plan?

Dental savings plans are a great choice for people without traditional dental insurance, including retirees, self-employed individuals, and those whose employers do not offer dental benefits. And since, unlike traditional dental insurance, there are no deductibles, waiting periods for major dental services, and no annual limits on service, using a dental savings plan is also an excellent choice for people who need immediate dental care or those who anticipate needing multiple dental procedures within the year.  

How do I access my discounts with an Aetna Vital Savings Plus dental savings plan?

You simply pay the discounted rate directly to any participating dentist at the time of your appointment. To save on the other healthcare services included in this plan, simply present your membership card to the pharmacist/healthcare provider and pay the reduced rate. 

Can you use an Aetna Vital Savings Plus dental savings plan with dental insurance?

While you can’t use dental insurance and a dental savings plan to reduce the cost of the same procedure, you can use it on different procedures. You can also use your dental savings plan instead of your insurance in cases where your dental savings plan will save you more money, or for additional treatments after you’ve hit your annual spending limit. Your dentist can help you determine how to best use your insurance and your dental savings plan, and its best to check your insurance policy for any restrictions.
