Parents need to teach their children about the importance of dental health. However, it can sometimes be difficult for parents to know the best way to educate their children on how to care for their teeth. Recently, the Pennsylvania Dental Association released a statement announcing that they have created a website called The Kids Corner, which uses games and activities to teach kids about dental care.
The group added that this website could also be an important resource for parents and teachers so they can see what gets kids excited about dental health. There is also a section of the website that teaches kids how and why they should brush and floss, along with a nutrition section. In the nutrition section, a character named Topher Tooth encourages kids to limit the sugary snacks and beverages they consume.
Crest recommends that teachers stress the importance of dental health to their classes by engaging in fun experiments. For example, they can put an egg into a jar of vinegar so kids can watch the effects of acids on a surface that is similar to teeth.
