Utah dentist discusses how dental implants have improved
Updated: 10/25/2011 7:00:05 PM

Recently, a Utah dentists discussed some of the advancements have been made in the field of dental implants for people with loose or missing teeth. Many Americans have cut back on visiting the dentist, since the economy has made it difficult for some people to afford even the most basic needs. Unfortunately, this can lead to many dental problems such as tooth decay and gum disease going unnoticed, which can lead to loose teeth.

Recently, a Utah dentists discussed some of the advancements have been made in the field of dental implants for people with loose or missing teeth.

“Today’s dental implants are much better than implants from just a few years ago. The newest implants are much more natural and feel more secure. These implants can replace one or more teeth and provide support for a partial denture or be used to attach a full denture,” said Brent Baugh, D.D.S.

Baugh also mentioned, however, that dental implants attach directly to the jaw, which is a complicated process that requires extensive surgery. Patients must be in good physical health, and all chronic conditions such as heart disease and diabetes must be taken into account.

Of course the goal is to not have to experience missing teeth in the first place, and visiting a dental professional regularly is the best way to ensure that teeth are healthy and staying put.
