Groups donate to charities, demonstrating the importance of dental health

Groups donate to charities, demonstrating the importance of dental health Many groups are donating their time to help Americans realize how important it is to have good dental habits.

For example, representatives from Proctor and Gamble's Oral-B will be in New York City in hopes to better the oral health of many individuals.

This month, Oral-B is offering a mail-in rebate for individuals to receive half off of each power toothbrush they buy. The company will also donate $25,000 to Operation Smile, a global charity that provides free surgeries for children in need of certain dental care.

Using a toothbrush allows individuals to remove plaque build-up. With a power toothbrush, it also increases oral health because it cleans deeper inside the mouth.

Keeping a clean mouth is also important for individuals' overall health. According to the CDC, cavities and tooth decay are a common problem associated with poor dental habits.

Individuals who need oral health for themselves and their families can find affordable dental care through discounted dental plans.
