Groups comes together to raise public awareness about the importance of dental care

Groups comes together to raise public awareness about the importance of dental care Individuals may not realize how easy it is to keep a clean mouth, and try to cut corners when it comes to keeping good dental hygiene. Groups like the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) and the maker of Orbit sugarfree gum are raising awareness about why oral health is important.

Next month marks National Dental Hygiene Month (NDHM), and the ADHA is hoping everyone - adults and children alike - will realize that good dental habits are easy to develop. Caryn Solie, president of ADHA says simple things like, "brushing, flossing, rinsing with an anti-microbial mouth rinse and chewing sugarfree gum," can help the overall state of a clean mouth.

When individuals brush their teeth at least twice each day, the American Dental Association (ADA) says the amount of plaque inside the mouth will be reduced as well as the potential risk for gingivitis or cavities. The ADA also says changing a toothbrush every three to four months can also help toward good oral hygiene.

One way individuals can find low-cost, affordable plans for themselves and their families is through discounted dental plans.
