Dental advancement may improve root canal procedures

Dental advancement may improve root canal procedures A new study has found a process that could improve root canal procedures, according to findings published in the American Chemical Society's journal, Nano.

During a routine root canal, dentists remove diseased dental pulp and inflamed tissue found in teeth, which leaves patients with non-vital or dead teeth. If let untreated, these dental complications can lead to further infection of nerves and blood vessels.

Dentists have discovered that instead of using root canal procedures that result in non-vital teeth and inflamed gums, they may have the opportunity to regenerate tissue and teeth damaged by decay and bacteria.

Researchers have developed a small dental film, which is compared to the width of a human hair, containing revitalizing dental pulp that could help fix infected areas and teeth in need of root canals.

More advancements in dental care may help lower the expenses associated with extensive procedures. Families and individuals with little or no dental insurance coverage can benefit from researching discount dental plans, which can provide them with the opportunity to see a dentist on a regular basis and receive cost-effective treatments.
