Dental care organizations add to Haitian relief effort

The Eco-Dentistry Association, an international organization of dentists dedicated to using eco-friendly methods, has recently announced that they have partnered with Preserve, Discuss Dental and Pure Life Dental to deliver oral medical supplies to Haiti, according to RDH Magazine.

All contributions will be donated to the humanitarian organization Heart to Heart International, which will put together personal hygiene kits for those in need in the island country.

"The devastation in Haiti is profound, and now is the time for all of us to help in some way to ease the suffering of the Haitian people," said Ina Pockrass, co-founder of the Eco-Dentistry Association, quoted by the news source.

"So we called upon leading suppliers in the industry and they stepped up immediately with generous donations."

The donated supplies include 9,000 tubes of toothpaste, 4,000 toothbrushes, 10 cases of latex gloves as well as thousands of packages of dental floss and mouthwash.

The American Dental Association recommends brushing twice a day, flossing daily, eating a balanced diet and visiting your dentist regularly to maintain optimal dental health.
