Edward L. Schneider, M.D. is the former Executive Director of one of the largest private centers for aging in the world, The Ethel Percy Andrus Gerontology Center at USC. He is the dean emeritus at the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California as well as a practicing clinician. He was also one of the scientists in the MacArthur Foundation Study of Successful Aging. Formerly, he was the deputy director for the NIH's National Institute of Aging. He has edited eleven professional books and more than 180 scholarly articles.
