Dentist honored for his commitment to dental care

Some who enter the dental care field dedicate their entire lives to this work. On such dentist was recently the first in Louisiana to receive the Academy of General Dentistry's award for Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition.

Dr L. King Scott was only one of 93 people in the entire country to be honored with this award, the News Star reveals. He is a fellow in both the Academy of Sports Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, The News Star reveals.

He also specializes in reconstructive dental work and cosmetic dentistry.
Adults considering cosmetic dentistry should understand that it need not be entirely drastic and can often improve overall dental health.

The American Dental Association explains that braces can help correct a bad bite, improve a person's smile and confidence and help prevent cavities. Food and other bacteria can build up in spaces between crooked or misaligned teeth.

Today, braces can be removable and virtually non-detectable thanks to new technology.

In addition, the ADA says cosmetic dentistry can include tooth whitening treatments to help brighten anyone's smile.
