Dentists aren't blessed with the reputation of having the best job in the world and few people get excited at the prospect of running through their daily dental hygiene routine, despite its importance.

However, a new training module for dentists is currently in beta testing, to be presented to dental students across the country and it should make dental care exciting.

The Virtual Implant Training Simulation program was created by a game developer, BreakAway, based out of Maryland, according to popsci.com.

This computer program is designed to help students determine which patients may need dental implants, and hopefully help individuals get the procedures covered by their dental insurance providers.

Students also have the chance to virtually select the right tools while the game simulates the procedure, the news service reports.

Dr Roman Cibirka who helped develop the program explained to the Augusta Times that "[t]his is the early development of health care virtual simulation," stating that he feels the technology will become "more and more sophisticated and more and more mainstream in health care delivery education."
