Anchorage dentistry offers low-cost services to 'anyone' Updated: 2/20/2008 12:05:42 PM Print Article Email Article           At the UAA Dental Hygience Clinic in Anchorage, Alaska anyone can receive low-cost dentist services at about 20 percent of what regular services cost, even if they do not qualify for low-income or student services. As part of the Dental Hygiene program, dental hygiene students see patients under the supervision of a dentist from the Anchorage community and offer every service from dental examinations, dental cleanings, X-rays and sealants for prices such as a complete oral examination and cleaning at $35 and a full set of X-rays at $40. The Dental Hygiene Clinic provides reduced-cost dental services to all staff, students and community members and a typical appointment is 3 1/2 hours. For members of the Anchorage community who don't have cash for these low-cost services, they could be eligible for the Anchorage Project Access if they have no other cover such as Medicaid and are a Municipality of Anchorage resident and have a gross family income below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.
