 (ARA) - Now that warm weather is here, a lot of people are starting to think about those home improvement projects they put off last year.

Among the items that almost always go on sale at the big box stores in the spring are kits to build storage sheds, roofing tiles, deck boards, wood flooring, hardware, paint and tools. Early in the season, it's not uncommon for the high ticket items to go on sale for hundreds of dollars less than their normal retail price. So even if you're planning to hire a contractor to do the job for you, you'd be wise to stock up on supplies early.
Speaking of contractors, if you are planning to hire one, now is the time to do it. Many have had long, slow winters and are eager to get back to work so they will be offering competitive prices too.
