Some people have always dreamed of changing their smile, but they either cannot afford cosmetic dentistry or they prefer not to go down this route.
An article on WKYC.com suggests that for people who have misshapen or missing teeth but do not want to try veneers, snap-on teeth may be an attractive option.
This clip-on resin appliance is a temporary way to change the look of a person's mouth and smile without affecting the surfaces of the teeth.
A dentist simply makes a mold of a patient's mouth and fits the new teeth over the existing ones.
But dental experts caution that patients should first consult with their dentist to make sure they do not need any underlying dental care - such as surgery for gum disease - before choosing a cosmetic fix.
"The snap-on product, if used in the proper patient case, can be a safe, inexpensive, and effective temporary procedure," said Academy of General Dentistry spokesperson Dr. Charles H. Perle.
However, he warned people that they should not have "unrealistic expectations" for what a temporary procedure can accomplish. For example, veneers would likely provide a more realistic appearance.
