Denture accessory 'protects dental health and comfort'
Updated: 11/13/2008 8:01:49 PM

Denture accessory Millions of Americans wear dentures - and many of these may welcome a way to potentially improve the comfort of this appliance while also protecting dental health.

Now, the manufacturer of a new denture liner claims that the product can help make dentures fit better, remain more stable in the mouth and reduce related soreness.

The Weber Denture Liners are designed to adhere to the inside of the denture, cushioning the mouth and gums. It can also help reduce the clicking sound that sometimes accompanies the wearing of dentures.

The product can be applied by the denture wearer and is reusable after being rinsed in tap water and dried with a soft cloth.

Designer Terry Weber said he was inspired to create the product after watching his father struggle with dental care related to his dentures.

Unless he was eating or visiting a friend, Weber's dad would keep his denture in his shirt pocket because it caused him discomfort.

The American Dental Association reminds people that proper dental care is important for denture wearers. Brushing the gums, tongue and palate with a soft-bristled brush before inserting dentures is an important dental hygiene step.
