Some people may still be confused about what the healthcare legislation known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) means for
For example, the Bangor Daily News recently published an article about a woman whose child was diagnosed with dentinogenesis imperfecta, a condition that involves her teeth being weak, soft and discolored. The woman was concerned that she would have to fight with her medical plan to get this covered because she did not have dental insurance, but she may not have realized that the ACA will take care of it.
According to The Washington Post, the ACA will provide dental coverage to children by 2014. Hopefully, this means that the woman who wrote to the Bangor Daily News will be able to take her daughter for regular checkups to make sure her child's teeth are in proper condition.
However, it's important to note that the ACA will not be providing dental care to adults, which is why people without coverage should look into discount dental plans to help them gain access to dentists at an affordable cost.
