Some people may not be happy with their smile, but may think that they are too old to do anything about it. While braces are often associated with teenagers and young adults, no one is ever too old to get these appliances to improve their dental health. Recently, EmpowHer published an article about how many older people now get braces.
According to the news source, while some people want braces to improve the appearance of their smile, they are also good for dental health. Crowded teeth are harder to clean, which increases a person's risk of developing tooth decay. Also, braces have come a long way in the past few decades. No longer is it necessary to have a mouth that's full of metal when there are clear braces available that are barely noticeable.
A 2007 article in The New York Times stated that more than one million American adults wear braces. There's no need for people with crooked teeth to suffer when there are so many different types of braces.
