While most individuals think they know the basics of maintaining dental health, they may be wrong. This is why more dentists have been starting websites to offer their patients around-the-clock tips for oral care. For example, dentists John Chu and Mary Lin recently started a site so their patients will always have a way to access dental care tips.
"Sometimes even the simplest dental care habits can go overlooked, such as brushing and flossing. When it comes to brushing and flossing teeth, the right techniques can make the biggest difference," said the dentists in a statement.
The dental health professionals reminded people that toothbrushes alone cannot properly care for teeth, which is why floss is necessary. When individuals floss, they should do it one tooth at a time. Then they should use their forefingers and thumb to pull the floss from the gum line to the top of the tooth to get rid of plaque.
Furthermore, the dentists stressed that people need to take their time when they brush their teeth, which means at least three minutes.
