Most people want whiter teeth, but not everyone has enough money for professional cosmetic dental treatments. This is why many people turn to whitening kits that can be found in a variety of stores to get a brighter smile. Sometimes, however, people are reluctant to use these kits because they are wary of the chemicals, while others use them incorrectly.
Recently, World Dental offered some tips on the proper way to use these kits. First, the news source said that people with very sensitive teeth should stick to the dentist when it comes to getting a whitening procedure.
"If however, you would like to use teeth whitening product at home, you should always be careful and select a whitening kit that is specifically designed for sensitive teeth. You should also respect the dosage recommendations, and never use the tooth whitening products extremely often," according to the dental news provider.
The Mayo Clinic states that a less expensive alternative to these kits can be whitening toothpastes, though they can only remover surface stains caused by eating and drinking, they can't change the natural color of teeth.
