National Dental Hygiene Month is coming to close, so it's time to get in some last minute tips for proper oral care. Recently, a Chicago area dentist offered some suggestions for people who are concerned about their dental health.
“People need to be aware of the importance of consistent dental care and hygiene,” said Gregory Page, D.D.S. “By frequenting your dentist regularly and following all of the suggestions regarding dental care, you greatly decrease the chance of any dental problems.”
The dentist made some recommendations for how to maintain dental health. First, he said people should go to the dentist every six months for a check-up and cleaning to take care of all the spots on the mouth that normal brushing misses.
Next, Page said that daily brushing is necessary for the health of teeth. Tooth decay can occur when a person is not regularly brushing their teeth, and this condition can lead to more serious issues, such as gum disease and gingivitis.
While not everyone can afford dental insurance, there are many affordable dental plans that can help individuals get access to the oral care they need.
