Dental care has been getting a lot of talk recently, mostly due to the fact that so many people are unable to afford it. Recently, News-Leader.com published an article discussing the issue of dental health in America and the dangers of not paying proper attention to oral problems.
"This throbbing problem of the lack of dental care and the lack of personal preventive care goes on year after year...90 percent of adults over 40 suffer tooth decay and 51 million school hours are missed annually due to tooth decay," said the news source.
News-Leader mentioned that brushing and flossing regularly can help prevent tooth decay, but communities need to band together to help residents receive quality care. WebMD reports that untreated tooth decay can lead to gum disease, which can cause teeth to become loose or even fall out.
The best way to fight off the effects of this disorder is to visit the dentist often. While everyone may not be able to afford insurance, there are luckily many affordable dental plans available.
