Campaign launched to encourage good dental health
Updated: 10/12/2011 7:00:02 PM

The message behind the public service program is simple - brush, floss, rinse, chew - and refers to the simple ways that people can maintain the health of their teeth. Many people don't visit the dentist until a problem has already developed. For example, people will go to whiten their yellowing teeth or to address a pain in their gums, but do not stop to consider that if they had better dental health habits they may not encounter these issues.

In honor of National Dental Hygiene Awareness Month, dentists from across the country have been offering tips to people who are interested in improving their oral care.

"Having a good oral hygiene regime daily is a good idea if you want to try to keep your natural teeth for a lifetime" said Jonathan Golab, D.D.S. "You might be surprised at the number of people who don’t brush and floss daily."

Golab and other dental professionals are teaming up with Orbit chewing gum, and the American Dental Hygienist Association to promote the campaign "Healthy Habits for a Healthy Smile." The message behind the public service program is simple - brush, floss, rinse, chew - and refers to the simple ways that people can maintain the health of their teeth.
