Leading oral surgery association teams with Ad Council for children's oral health campaign

Leading oral surgery association teams with Ad Council for children On August 4, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) announced its partnership with the Ad Council to devise a campaign dedicated to promoting awareness of children's oral health. The Partnership for Health Mouths, Healthy Lives coalition will also be involved in the management of this three-year advocacy initiative.

The seed of this campaign was planted by the Partnership for Healthy Mouths, which submitted a proposal to the Ad Council that was accepted in June. Initiatives by the Council are well-imprinted in the public consciousness, covering issues ranging from college education for black Americans to automobile safety.

This children's oral health promotion is not the only campaign the AAOMS has been involved in. Each April, the organization teams with the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry to sponsor National Facial Protection Month.

Parents and caregivers will be focused on in the new AAOMS-Ad Council campaign as much as children, as it is their responsibility to care for their children until they can care for themselves.

In addition to its representation of over 9,000 U.S. oral and maxillofacial surgeons, the AAOMS sponsors educational programs and research in the areas of oral health, publishes the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, holds the Dental Implant Conference and contributes to government communications programs.
