Differentiating one toothbrush or toothpaste from the next may be difficult when shoppers are confronted with hundreds of options in a beauty care aisle. However, making the right selection may soon become an easier task.
For more than 80 years, the American Dental Association (ADA) has branded dental hygiene products that the group endorses with the Seal of Acceptance, which may make it easier for consumers to identify items that have been proven to promote good oral health.
Now, the organization has launched a new website that will allow users to compare up to six different oral care products at one time and read expert reviews from members of the ADA's Council on Scientific Affairs.
Items that carry the Seal include toothbrushes, toothpastes, dental floss and mouthrinses.
"The Association is eagerly anticipating the launch of this new website for the ADA Seal. We are hopeful that the new information it provides will be helpful to both dentists and hygienists when discussing oral care products with their patients," said ADA president Ray Gist.
