Pop song may remind people of dental care
Updated: 12/30/2010 3:00:04 PM

Cigarettes will negatively affect dental health Jimmy Eat World may not have meant it, but one of their songs may subtly remind people to administer daily dental care.

The rock band from Arizona released their seventh album this year with "Invented," which has one track titled "Coffee and Cigarettes."

The song's lyrics speaks of young love and late nights, but its title brings to mind two of the most harmful things for dental health.

Coffee is known to stain one's teeth and can have a negative effect on one's breath, though many endure it because of the benefit of the caffeine in the beverage.

Cigarettes are a bit more problematic since it has been proven they can be harmful to one's overall health and known to cause lung cancer. Again, like coffee, cigarettes can easily stain teeth and can open the door to damaging one's dental health.

So while the song may be catchy, fans of the band may want to also take in the subtle reminder to administer daily dental care to avoid conditions such as tooth decay.
