Non-profit gives the gift of free dental care this holiday season
Updated: 12/17/2010 6:59:59 PM

Non-profit provides free dental care around the country Despite the efforts of government officials to reform healthcare across the country, there are still a number of people with no access to dental insurance.

However one national non-profit named Dentistry from the Heart helps organize free dental care events thanks to dentists and practices donating their time to the cause of ensuring that as many people as possible have proper dental health.

And as the year comes to a close, it may be the best time for some people to get a dental checkup as a way to start 2011 with a healthy smile.

There are four more events lined up for this year in locations in four different states: Tennessee, Idaho, California and Michigan.

Dr. Tesa Reeves welcomed patients today at her practice in Pulaski, Tennesssee, which is the second time she has hosted the event, according to local NBC affiliate WAFF.com. Last year Reeves reportedly provided 133 people with more than $25,000 worth of free dental care.

While free dental events from Dentistry from the Heart are helpful, it is hardly a good substitute for having dental insurance.
