Kentucky dental practice looks to assist elderly patients
Updated: 7/21/2010 8:59:59 PM

Kentucky dental practice looks to assist elderly patients In an effort to provide dental care services specifically for elderly patients, a Kentucky-based dentist has announced its newest facility will offer treatments for these individuals.

Patients will be able to see a dentist on a regular basis and receive a variety of services, such as exams, whitening treatments, extractions and restoration methods, including false teeth and dentures. The new office also has staff that can provide more extensive treatments, including oral surgery and bridge work.

Staff at the facility encourage walk-in patients, and have set up a variety of payment plans for individuals with little or no dental insurance.

By recognizing the increased needs of older patients, offices like these are improving access to dental care treatments for the elderly. In 2007, only 58 percent of adults aged 65 years and older visited a dentist, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports.

In addition to dental practices that provide treatments specifically for elderly patients, these individuals can also benefit from researching discount dental plans. By finding an affordable oral hygiene program, older patients can see a dentist on regular basis, and receive various treatments without having to worry about expensive medical bills.
