In an effort to raise awareness of the importance of dental health, the Hispanic Dental Association (HDA) and Colgate-Palmolive have named the month of June as the Colgate's Oral Health Month.
As the largest minority group in the U.S., the Hispanic population has increased the demand for oral health care. By partnering with the HDA, the campaign will travel nationwide, providing bilingual material and activities to teach Hispanic Americans about dental hygiene.
Also, Colgate's Bright Smiles, Bright Future program will take to the road, and offer free oral health education and dental screenings to Hispanic children.
"The HDA is excited to launch this year's Oral Health Month, an annual campaign that supports our organization's mission to improve oral care among Hispanics," said Victor Rodriguez, president of the association. He added that "we are inspired by the passion and enthusiasm of this campaign and look forward to changing families across the U.S. one smile at a time, one "promise" at a time."
