For some chronic migrane or jaw pain sufferers, not knowing the cause of their discomfort can be incredibly frustrating. One woman visited her dentist with excruciating headaches and found that dental care was the answer to her problem.
According to Wisconson ABC news channel affiliate WKOTV, Sara Zenlea finally went to her dentist where she learned that her headaches were caused by an uneven bite.
Her dentist, Dr Rober Kerstein suggested that her tooth alignment was to blame and took a T scan of her teeth allowing him to see where the problems lay.
He said to the news provider that this painless procedure "allows you to see dynamically where there's too much pressure, where the teeth are striking too early, how unbalanced the bite is."
Similarly, the American Dental Association cites jaw pain as a viable reason to make a dental appointment.
Upon occasion, a patient with severe headaches or jaw complications may be suffering from teeth issues, periodontal disease or Temporomandibular Disorders relating to jaw misalinment.
