ADA congratulated for 150 years of improving dental health A new resolution observed the landmark 150th anniversary of the American Dental Association for the organization's continuing effort to improve the dental health of adults and children as well as offering dental care advice to those who may not have access to dental insurance.

Representative Mike Simpson, who is also a dentist, offered his congratulations in the congressional resolution that was introduced with 41 bipartisan cosponsors.

The resolution acknowledged the ADA's efforts to raise awareness about good dental care and encouraging its members to donate time and research to provide charitable and uncompensated care.

"The ADA isn't just interested in issues that benefit its members - this organization looks out for the public's interest too. A perfect example is the work the ADA has done to improving oral health care access for the underserved," said the Republican from Idaho.

According to the resolution, members of the ADA have provided more than $2 billion in charitable events and donations for those who may not have access to care. One example of this was the Give Kids a Smile event that occurred last month nationwide, which provided more than 450,000 children with much-needed dental care.
