The American Dental Association (ADA) has produced a new, up-to-date brochure about the attributes of commonly-used dental restorative materials.
It has been produced as part of an attempt to help dentists respond to the concerns of their patients, with particular emphasis being placed on the safety, efficacy and aesthetic aspects of restorative options.
It is also hoped that the dentists will be able to use the brochure to ensure their patients better understand the treatment options available to them.
Noted in the leaflet, for example, is the fact that while gold is normally the highest cost material it is also has excellent durability and, does not crack under stress.
However, people part of a dental plan and pay the required fees could ensure the best available treatment while also securing discounts and savings.
