A dental care provider in Texas has decided to keep his practice small so that he can better care for the patients he sees.
Dr Jonathan Golab has a practice in Flower Mound and he has decided he'd like to keep his patient roster short in order to maintain a personal relationship with the people who come in to see him.
"Patient comfort is a variable that every practice should consider," said the dentist. "At my practice we focus on creating a bond with our patients. It may be old fashioned, but our patients are comfortable, and that is a great asset to the practice."
Like a visit to the doctor's office, a dental checkup can be intimidating for patients. One way dentists ease the anxiety some people feel before undergoing a procedure is to explain what exactly will be happening during the appointment.
The American Dental Association (ADA) says that brushing twice a day, flossing regularly and visiting the dentist for professional cleanings is a good way to avoid developing gum disease. The ADA says antimicrobial mouth rinses can help too.
