This may be one of the only instances where tooth decay could be involved in something beneficial toward society.
Boca Raton police are looking for a man with "considerable tooth decay" who allegedly robbed a Wachovia branch last week, the SunSentinel.com reports.
Witnesses described the man as either white or Hispanic, about 5-foot-9, with a medium build, unshaven and as having poor dental health, according to the article.
Police also told the news provider it's possible this same suspect may be responsible for another robbery that occurred earlier this month committed by someone was also described as having "rotten or dirty" teeth.
It was not reported whether or not the area dentists were questioned about recent patients coming in for some much-needed dental care.
Law-abiding citizens may be pleased to know that the man is most likely suffering since untreated tooth decay, while painful, can also lead to serious health problems in the future such as heart disease and diabetes.
People interested in maintaining good dental health should adhere to a routine of teeth cleanings, flossing and dental checkups to avoid developing the condition.
