The Californian city of Santa Clarita is gearing up for a birthday party with a difference as residents mark 15 years of the Foundation for Children's Dental Health.
Celebrations are planned for September 13th at the home of local mayor Bob Kellar, reports radio station KHTS.
The ticket-only event aims to raise extra funds for the dental organization, which was set up in 1993 to give youngsters from low-income families in the area better access to mouth care.
Since its launch, more than 62,000 kids have benefited from free dental care, emergency services and oral hygiene education.
While the foundation's mission will be outlined at the event, the focus of the September evening will be on feasting and having fun.
As well as music and meals, guests can also pick up a few tips on the dance floor as salsa professionals show off their moves before offering lessons to anyone interested in trying it for themselves.
In related news, a Major League Baseball team helped to promote dental health in Kansas City last Saturday. Star players from the Kansas City Royals helped inspire local children to take better care of their teeth at a clinic organized by the TeamSmile campaign.
