High schools students provided with free dental care

High schools students provided with free dental care To prevent potential health risks like gum disease or tooth decay, individuals could receive regular oral exams as well as brush or floss their teeth daily, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Some programs are also providing free services to high school students so that these individuals will have better dental habits and a clean overall health bill. ConnectMidMichigan.com reports that about 20 kids from the Buena Vista High School in Michigan were recently treated to oral care.

The event was organized by nursing students who are enrolled at nearby Saginaw Valley State University. According to the news source, these individuals stop by the high school about every six months with a mobile dental van that is equipped for treating the high schoolers.

Rita Cheek, principal of the high school, told the news source that this is an important program because many of the students who receive the free services do not have health insurance.

People who lack coverage for themselves and their families can find affordable, low-cost care through discount dental plans.
