Dental health groups help with relief efforts in Mississippi

Dental health groups help with relief efforts in Mississippi Following extensive destruction caused by recent flooding and tornadoes, communities in Mississippi are struggling with making quality dental care available to their citizens.

However, one group recently donated dental hygiene products to residents in Yazoo City, which was hit particularly hard.

Dr David Strange, director of Kool Smiles, the dental group providing the dental supplies, said that the tornado that ripped through the city left behind many people in need of aid, and that these relief efforts aimed at the dental health of residents would help address one of the most urgent needs of the community.

"We're worried about the devastation in one of our neighborhoods," he said. "While this is only one piece of a larger effort coordinated by the Red Cross, we hope many other organizations will join the relief effort to bring smiles back to this great city."

The relief efforts have made such an impact in Yazoo City that public officials in many other parts of the state that were affected by the natural disasters are trying to bring similar services to their community.
