Oral-B launches program to improve children's dental health

A nationally-recognized toothbrush brand has launched a program aimed at educating parents about the importance of dental care for their children.

The program, Oral-B Stages, will organize its dental health suggestion with different stages in a child's life.

"Parents should begin a proper oral care routine early and stay educated on the different oral health issues their children may face as they grow so they can be properly addressed," said Dr Laura Jana, founder of Practical Parenting Consulting.

The program, which received input from industry experts such as Jana, can maximize their child's dental health in various stages. The first stage has parents administering dental care to their newborns and ensuring they see a doctor by their first birthday.

At stage two, parents should be mindful what their 2 to 4-year-old is eating and may want to join their child in a nightly teeth cleaning, according to the program.

Finally the program suggests parents monitor their children closely as they mature, making sure they are using fluoridated toothpaste and to provide access to a dentist when needed.
