(ARA) - Walls are just empty space before you add your own personal design flare with wall decorations. Whether its pictures, mirrors, artwork or other decorative pieces, wall art really brings out a room's personality. The problem often isn't choosing the decoration, it's figuring out the best way to hang it.
Most people think that they need a hammer, measuring tape and a stud finder in order to properly hang a picture. This might be the traditional method, but there are much easier ways to hang things without damaging your walls with big nail holes.
Start by looking for alternative items like the Hercules Hook, which doesn't require the use of a hammer. This metal hook was specifically created to be pushed easily by hand through the wall. Because the metal hook is very thin, it leaves only a small hole, so if you decide to move your picture, you can easily patch the hole or leave as is, for it is small enough to go unnoticed. Plus, you no longer have to hunt for nails that fit your hanging device or bother with deciding which traditional device is large enough or the right style to use.
Just because it's small doesn't mean it isn't strong. The Hook's design was tested to hold up to 150 pounds without the use of a stud for support. No longer do you have to hang only where a stud is available. Place your pictures so that they are complementary to the design in your room, no matter where that location might be. If you have a weak wall, simply use multiple hooks for heavy objects.
To hang a picture, step back from the wall to get a broad perspective of the entire room. Consider the surrounding walls, furniture and other items in order to achieve a balanced look. Also think about the level that makes the most sense to hang the item. Will you be looking at the picture from sitting level in the dining room, or a mirror at eye level in the hallway?
Once you decide on the location, mark the hole with a small pencil or pen dot. Next, take your Hercules Hook and just push and twist the long, straight metal part through the wall. Thread the entire hook through until you reach the curved end. Turn the hook until it is level and hang your item. You can finalize your look by using a laser level to make sure the item is hanging evenly.
To get 20 Hercules Hooks and a free bonus level, visit www.herculeshook.com. Cost is $14.99 plus shipping and processing. Hanging a picture will never be a hassle again.
