MSN adCenter Account Setup Instructions

Before creating a Pay-Per-Click campaign with MSN, please go to this page and setup an MSN adCenter account: http://www.startadcenter.com/keyoff/.

MSN also provides a video tutorial to walk you through creating an account. To access this video tutorial, go to their homepage - https://adcenter.microsoft.com/ - click on the “Help” link on the bottom right hand side, then “Table of contents”, and then “Videos” in the navigation bar on the left.

MSN Pay-Per-Click Tutorial:


Step 1 – Creating a New Campaign

Once you have an active account with MSN, you will log into this screen below. The first step to create a new Pay-Per-Click campaign is to click the Create Campaign button.




Step 2 – Campaign Naming and Targeting

On the next page, you will label your campaign and order (an order is MSN’s way of referring to a particular list of keywords within a campaign you create), then select the campaign’s language targeting and location targeting. Since the plans on DentalPlans.com are available nationwide, you should select the United States from the list of available countries.




Step 3 – Creating an Ad

Create your first ad on this page. Here is a sample ad:

Step 4 – Choosing Keywords

The next step deals with keyword selection. Please contact your Affiliate Manager if you need help with gathering keywords to use for your campaigns. Also remember to include the excluded keywords (Avia, Delta, Cigna, MetLife, Blue Cross, Blue Shield and Western) sent to you when you first joined the program.




Step 5 – Budget Setup & Max CPC

Depending on how much you are willing to spend, this portion will vary from Affiliate to Affiliate. However, we suggest that you start off with a low maximum click rate (usually somewhere between $0.10 and $0.25 per click) until you get enough clicks to establish a conversion rate for the keywords you are using.




Step 6 – Review

Make sure you review all of your choices by double-checking to see if everything is correct and click “Continue.”
